Before you buy

Things to keep in mind when buying one of our testing panels:

The Alcat test, our food and chemical sensitivity test, tests for food and chemical sensitivities, not allergies or intolerances. If you are interested in confirming whether or not you have an allergy, please see your doctor for allergy testing. See our science page for more information about the difference between sensitivities, allergies, and intolerances.

All test panels, aside from the genetic-only testing, require a blood draw by a phlebotomist or health care provider. If you are having trouble finding a place to collect your sample, get in touch with the PreviMedica team, and we can help you set up a blood draw. Genetic-only testing has a  cheek swab as an option. You can collect and mail this sample yourself. Resources to assist with sample collection are at the bottom of this page.

Getting Started

Creating Your Account On The Portal

This portal is where your nutritionist will communicate with you and where you can access our educational resources to help support you on your health journey.

After you receive the email notification indicating your results are ready for you to view, please follow these instructions to start your account on the PreviMedica portal:

  1. In the “Your results are ready to view” email, click on the Create my account button to be directed to our portal (https://connect.previmedica.com).  If you already have an account, log in and go to step 4.
  2. Enter the information requested and click Set my password.
  3. Complete your profile.  You are now connected with PreviMedica.
  4. To view and download your test results, go to the Files/Results icon.  Under CSS results, click on each test name to download your results.

Completing PreviMedica Forms

Before scheduling your first appointment with a PreviMedica nutritionist, we request that you complete the following forms on the portal: Health Questionnaire (or Children’s Health Questionnaire if the membership is for a child under the age of 14) and the Symptom Review Form. Both can be found on the home page when you first log in to your account. Once we receive these completed forms: (1) your account will be approved, giving you full access to the portal, and (2) your nutritionist will contact you via phone and portal message to schedule your first consultation.

We recommend using a Google Chrome browser to complete the forms. Screenshots seen here may look different than what you would see on your phone. If you are having technical difficulties with the portal, please contact us at hello@ previmedica.com or 855.773.8463.

Reports

Understanding Your Reports

Your results come in a report format and are available in a downloadable PDF. If you buy multiple tests from us, the results for each test are in their own document. Below, you will find video tutorials that help you interpret your test results. If you are meeting with one of our nutrition professionals, either through a membership or an individually purchased session, they can also walk you through your results and answer any questions you may have.

Regarding your Alcat test results, it is important to keep in mind that they will list your sensitivities. The Alcat tests through a different pathway than allergies. Because of this, foods you are allergic to may show up in your safe list. This does mean they are safe to consume if you have a confirmed allergy, it means they are not creating an immune response that indicates sensitivity. Anything you are allergic to should still be avoided.

Disclaimer: It is important to note that food sensitivity testing is distinct from food allergy testing. While both tests share the objective of identifying potential food reactions, they vary in their diagnostic methodology and the types of reactions they detect. Food allergy testing commonly focuses on immediate, life-threatening reactions to foods, while food sensitivity testing aims to detect delayed responses that can be less severe but still affect one's health. Therefore, we strongly advise consulting with a qualified healthcare professional to determine which testing approach is most suitable for your particular situation.
